ARE YOU BEARING FRUIT
But the fruit of the Spirit is Love, Joy, Peace,
Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness,
Gentleness and Self-Control. Against such
things there is no law. Galatians 5:22
As Christians, Christ expects us to bear fruit. As we
bear fruit we become more like Jesus, taking on more
of His attributes and dying more each day to ourselves.
This is important for two reasons. First, as others begin to
see our fruit we become true witnesses of Christ, which can
encourage someone to follow Jesus Christ. Second, we
need to bear fruit so that we can make it into heaven.
The old man will not enter in.
Just imagine what would happen
to you if Jesus wanted to use the fruit that is in your life and
He came to you, finding no fruit, like He did the fruitless fig tree
that died because he cursed it. We do not want Jesus to do
this to us. We must bear fruit.
BEARING THE FRUIT OF LOVE
We use these words so freely today; I love you. But
when put to the test, our love doesn't seem to hold out
or pass the test. I find that our love runs out. We need
the LOVE of God. Sure, we may love our mothers, our
fathers, our husbands, our wives, our sisters and our
brothers. But we need the Love of God to keep our
relationships flowing. To be honest, as time goes by we
find that we dont like everything about these family members
or friends, and this can make us treat them unfair and rough.
As we walk with Christ and take on His attributes, He can give
us more love and grace to deal with them. We must hold fast
to the Word of God for there is power in the Word that can help
us. God commands us to Love one another in John 13:34-35
A new command I give to you: Love one another.
As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
By this all men will know that you are my disciples,
if you love one another.
People will not be able to see Christ in us if we fuss and
fight all the time. We as Christians must bear the right fruit.
So that God can receive the glory.
The kind of love that Christ wants us to have is found in
1 Cor. 13:1-7 And now I will show you the most
excellent way. If you speak in the tongues of men
and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding
gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy
and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and
if I have faith that can move mountains, but have not
love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor
and surrender my body to the flames, but have not
love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does
not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not
self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record
of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices
with truth. It always protects, always trusts, always
hopes, always perseveres.
This is the way Jesus wants us to love. Its easy to read, but
we have to pray and ask God to apply it to our hearts and begin
walking in it everyday. The Holy Spirit will teaches us how to love one
another. We have to stop behaving like children and see ourselves
for what we really are and ask Jesus to help our families, our friend,
and ourselves. It really does take pray to make a relationship work.
Even the rough times and the bad times, should help us to grow
closer to Jesus and each other, and not farther apart. Know that the
devil is our enemy and the Lord has already defeated him.
If we love Jesus and want to be like Him, we should have no problem
obeying His Word. He says in Deu.5:6- Love the LORD your God
with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.
Now this is the true test of LOVE. If we can Love the lord our God with all
of our heart and soul. Then loving others should not be a problem. Jesus,
when He was here on earth didnt not have a problem loving people. In fact
He loved us so much He gave His life for us. Now could we lay down our
lives today? Maybe we could lay down pride and self today and die
to ourselves, so that others can see the Love of Jesus in us. Bear
the fruit of LOVE today.
